2. Then, you configure permissions. You can give neighbors timed access, allowing them to enter and exit during a particular timeframe, or event-based admittance. For example, if a box is delivered, the system can unfasten the door to allow your neighbor to take it in once it verifies them.
3. Once you’ve configured access, your Google Nest Doorbell camera with familiar face functionality recognizes your neighbor when they come near the door.
4. Your ADT home security will pause the alarm and release the door lock when the approachee is authenticated as a permitted guest.
5. You are sent immediate notifications as your friend, neighbor, or family member enters and exits. The app also provides a complete log. 
6. When the trusted neighbor exits, your smart door lock automatically secures to protect your home.

You may provide access for any individual you would like, such as a housesitter, a maintenance worker, or a friend who comes over when you’re not there. This tool is also helpful during emergencies, particularly when you’re not around. For example, if a water sensor goes off, your system can authorize event-driven access so an individual can enter and shut off the water.
